Through the Ministry of Transportation, the Federal Government has established a Project Steering Committee for the proposed Benin River and Ondo Deep Sea Ports.
The ceremony’s master of ceremonies was Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation.
This was said in a statement by the press and public relations director for the ministry, Henshaw Ogubike.
The group was created, according to Ajani, to support government initiatives aimed at further reducing congestion in the Western Ports and maximizing the economic contributions of the maritime sector.
The purpose of the committee, in Ajani’s opinion, is to facilitate the acquisition of all required permits, clearances, and approvals by providing recommendations and leadership for the projects.
