FRSC Seizes Vehicle with Foreign Plate Number and Apprehends Driver for Violations

An individual who drove a car with both foreign and Nigerian licence plates was detained by the Federal Road Safety Corps.

Following sufficient intelligence gathered by the tactical team, the driver of the Volkswagen (Golf 3) with a Kano number plate (BBJ746AA) placed at the front and a foreign one (CV 51UMC) placed at the rear was apprehended within the Idu operational area of the corps in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Following the conclusion of a preliminary investigation by the Corps Intelligence Unit, the confiscated Volkswagen and the driver have been sent over to Life Camp Divisional Police Command, FCT, for additional questioning and potential prosecution.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Bisi Kazeem, on Tuesday, the corps urged the public, especially the individuals who committed this criminal act, to take note that “tactical teams of the Corps have been strategically placed to ensure that all suspects are arrested and their vehicles are impounded at sight for onward prosecution.”

Dauda Ali Biu, the Corps Marshal, had ordered a crackdown on all unstable, unregistered, and incorrectly registered vehicles statewide.

In order to assure the arrest of everyone involved, Kazeem claimed that special operations were ongoing and that FRSC patrol teams were on the lookout.
