Orji Kalu Seeks Relevance In Tinubu’s Political Calculation For 2023 Presidency
Former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is now seeking for political relevance from the backdoor as its political group threatens to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Orji Uzor Kalu Grassroots Movement has announced its desire to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) after the Presidential Campaign Council barred its principal and former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, from participating in the party’s operations (PCC).
Speaking to journalists at the group’s national headquarters in Abuja, Alhaji Muritala Mohammed alias 10-10 revealed that the group, which has over 3.8 million registered members countrywide, is unhappy with the PCC’s neglect of the Senate chief whip and is considering leaving the party.
According to him, the organisation was formed to promote Senator Kalu as a detribalized leader in Nigeria with the capacity and experience to serve at the highest levels of government.

Mohammed described Kalu as a detribalised leader who, as governor of Abia State, appointed a northerner to his cabinet, built a massive Mosque for the Muslim population in Abia State, and stopped a retaliatory attack against northerners in Aba and Umuahia during the Kano conflict.
He stated that the group has already endorsed the APC’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, but that the endorsement will most likely be withdrawn if the PCC does not acknowledge Orji Kalu and engage him in campaign activities.
“Our principal is a former governor and a sitting top-ranking senator with millions of supporters worldwide, so why should the PCC ignore him and not engage him in the party’s campaign activities?” he continued. The PCC should include him in the campaign; otherwise, we will leave APC.”
