APC Takes Action: 84 Aregbesola Loyalists Expelled in Osun State – Full List Inside

For anti-party activities, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has evicted no fewer than 84 supporters of the late interior minister, Rauf Aregbesola.

They were expelled for agreeing to the political appointments made by Governor Ademola Adeleke, including those of commissioners and members on the Osun State and Local Government Caretaker Committees.

According to Newstrends, the party might also discipline Aregbesola after he admitted in an interview on Tuesday that he purposefully worked against the APC’s efforts to win the state’s governorship in 2022.

Others ejected from the party were Biyi Odunlade, the current Osun State Commissioner for Political Affairs and Inter-Governmental Relations, and Rasaq Salinsile, the Chairman of the Osun Teaching Service Commission, who was chosen by Governor Adeleke.

The expulsion of the party members was announced in a news release by Tajudeen Lawal, the Osun APC chairman.

The State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State established a Disciplinary Committee to look into reports of anti-party activity against certain of its members.

“This disciplinary measure came in response to the allegations of misconduct and actions that embarrassed and brought the party to disrepute. The Disciplinary Committee undertook a thorough and impartial review of the allegations and the findings were carefully deliberated upon by the State Executive Committee.

“After a comprehensive assessment of the evidence and consideration of the committee’s recommendations, the State Executive Committee has taken the difficult yet necessary step of expelling the members.

He enjoined members of the party to remain focused on the party’s goals and continue working together to serve the interests of the State.

Governor Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party defeated the then incumbent, Gboyega Oyetola, who ran on the platform of the APC.

Oyetola failed both at the tribunal and Supreme Court to have Adeleke’s victory overturned.
