NEMA supplies medications to Kano hospitals.

The National Emergency Management Agency donated medications to four hospitals in Kano State to assist flood victims and other emergencies.

While presenting the materials, NEMA Director-General Mustapha Habib-Ahmed stated that Map International made the donation to Kano hospitals.

Habib-Ahmed, who was represented by NEMA Coordinator, Kano and Jigawa Territorial Office, Nuraddeen Abdullahi, stated that the donation will supplement the Federal government’s efforts to provide quality treatment to victims of floods, kidnapping, and banditry.

Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Bichi General Hospital, Wudil General Hospital, and Karaye General Hospital are among the facilities that will benefit, according to him.

Among the goods supplied were a prenatal micronutrient supplement X100, a knee walker, a syringe, 500mg krill oil, eye glasses, a respirator, a lancet pro-care, bactine spray, a disposable barrier gown, and a sharp collector.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje praised NEMA for its assistance and asked recipients to use the things wisely.

Ganduje, represented by the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Emergency Management Agency, Saleh Jili, asked for continued collaboration between SEMA and NEMA.

He warned members of the public, particularly women who use firewood, cooking gas, and charcoal, to handle fire with caution and to turn off electrical appliances when not in use.

Ganduje also urged citizens to stop dumping trash indiscriminately and to always clear drainages to avoid flooding.

Responding, Nasiru Alhassan-Kabo, Kano State Director, Hospital Management Board, praised NEMA for the thoughtful gift.

Alhassan-Kabo, represented by Deputy Director Hospital Management Board Ibrahim Abdullahi, stated that the hospitals will make effective use of the equipment.
