Buhari Must Examine the 2014 CONFAB Resolution and Implement It Before May 29 – OPC

The Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to reconsider the resolutions included in the 2014 National Conference Paper before he leaves office in 2023.

According to OPC group’s General Secretary, Bunmi Fasehun, “Resolutions included in the 2014 National Conference paper must be examined and implemented by President Muhammadu Buhari before he passes over power.”

”That is the only way to put an end to calls for Nigeria’s fragmentation. Nigeria will continue to stumble from crisis to crisis unless we can cohabit on mutually agreed-upon parameters. “

The OPC statement urged, “The government must hasten steps to achieve the release of additional nationals in captivity, utilising the blueprint that worked in the release of the kidnapped Abuja-Kaduna train passengers,” the statement continued.

“Granting governors licences would be no substitute for State Police and Restructuring, which would be the most accurate depiction of True Federalism as established in Nigeria’s Independence legislation.”

“The late Dr Frederick Fasehun, founder of the OPC, and others spent several years clamouring for a Sovereign National Conference, which President Goodluck Jonathan partially granted.”
